Service-call trades: Housecall Pro. Bigger teams who dislike per-seat pricing: Service Fusion (unlimited users from $245/mo). Solo plumbers and handymen: Joist ($12/mo).

Why people look for alternatives to Jobber

Jobber's published pricing tells you most of the story. A 1-user Core plan is $49/mo (or $29/mo billed annually). Multi-user plans rise quickly: for a 2 to 5 person team, the plans Jobber's pricing page shows start at Connect with 5 users at $199/mo, Grow at $299/mo and Plus at $499/mo; at 10 users they are $299, $399 and $599. Users beyond the included number are $29/mo each. Annual billing and 1-year commitments lower the prices. Jobber pricing

Common reasons to leave, from what contractors say publicly (we have not tested these claims):

Make sure you actually need what you are switching to. Many of the alternatives below cost less because they offer fewer integrations or less polish.

If cost per user is the problem

QuoteIQ includes more users per plan (1, 2, 4, 10 or 20) and charges $25/mo for extra users. Essentials is $29.99/mo; Pro ($199.99/mo, 4 users) includes automation, job costing and QuickBooks Online. See QuoteIQ vs Jobber for the detailed cost table. We earn a commission from QuoteIQ.

ServiceM8 ignores user count: you pay by jobs per month. Free covers 30 jobs, then $29 (50 jobs), $79 (150), $149 (500) and $349 (1,500+). It lists scheduling, quoting, invoicing, payments and staff tracking. ServiceM8 pricing (US)

GorillaDesk prices per route and includes unlimited admin, manager, sales and crew users: Basic $49, Pro $99, Growth $149 for the first route; extra routes cost $30 to $100/mo depending on plan. GorillaDesk pricing

Service Fusion has unlimited users on all plans, from $245/mo monthly ($208 annual), so it beats Jobber only for teams of about 8 or more. Kickserv is $60/mo for 5 users and $119 for 10.

If you want a different trade focus

HVAC, plumbing, electrical: Housecall Pro adds flat-rate pricing (Essentials) and recurring service plans (Max). Workiz targets locksmith, garage door, appliance and similar trades but quotes pricing. See our HVAC and plumbing guides.

Pool, pest and lawn routes: GorillaDesk, plus Skimmer for pool-only companies. See pool service software.

Pressure washing and cleaning: QuoteIQ and Markate are common; see pressure washing and cleaning.

If you only need estimates and invoices

Joist lists Basics at $12/mo monthly ($8.34/mo billed annually) for up to 5 documents a month, Pro at $17/mo and Elite at $32/mo, with a 14-day trial and no card required. Its pricing FAQ says the free plan is no longer available. It does not try to be a scheduling and dispatch system. Joist pricing Markate is another budget option at $49.95/mo plus $5 per employee; price the add-ons you will use because online booking, client portal, Zapier and photo documentation are each $10/mo.
