Quick verdict
Choose QuoteIQ if you are a solo or small crew in lawn care, cleaning, pressure washing or similar exterior work and want the lowest list price. Essentials is $29.99/mo for 1 user. Choose Housecall Pro if you run HVAC, plumbing or electrical jobs and want flat-rate pricing, recurring service plans and a phone-support-heavy product. Its Basic plan is $79/mo monthly ($59/mo billed annually) for 1 user, and the plan most small teams need, Essentials with 5 users, is $189/mo monthly ($149/mo annual).
We earn a commission when you sign up for QuoteIQ, not for Housecall Pro. We still say Housecall Pro is the more natural fit for service-call trades, and we explain why below.

Pricing by team size
The two companies price very differently, so the cheapest option depends on how many people need a login.
- 1 person: QuoteIQ Essentials $29.99/mo vs Housecall Pro Basic $79/mo ($59/mo billed annually). QuoteIQ is cheaper at every billing option on the pricing pages.
- 2 people: QuoteIQ Beginner is $99.99/mo. Housecall Pro's pricing page offers Basic for 1 user and Essentials for 5 users, so a second user means Essentials at $189/mo (or $149/mo annual). QuoteIQ is cheaper on list price.
- 4 to 5 people: QuoteIQ Pro is $199.99/mo for 4 users, or $224.99/mo with a fifth user at $25 (our arithmetic). Housecall Pro Essentials is $189/mo monthly for 5 users, so Housecall Pro is slightly cheaper at exactly five users on monthly billing.
- 8 to 10 people: QuoteIQ Elite is $299.99/mo for 10 users. Housecall Pro Max is $329/mo for 8 users plus $35/mo for each extra, so 10 users is $399/mo (our arithmetic). QuoteIQ is about $100/mo cheaper at that size.
Annual billing changes the math. QuoteIQ gives two months free on yearly billing; Housecall Pro's annual prices ($59, $149, $299) are about $20 to $40/mo lower than monthly. Both vendors also showed first-month promotions on their pricing pages, which we left out. Sources: QuoteIQ pricing and Housecall Pro pricing.
Remember the subscription is only part of the bill. Card processing is separate, and Housecall Pro states its rates are "as low as 2.59%". QuoteIQ routes payments through Stripe or Whop, whose rates depend on your account. Ask both what your actual rate will be.
What the plans include
Housecall Pro
- Basic (1 user): online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments and consumer financing, price book, job costing and review management.
- Essentials (5 users): adds routes, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports and annotations, employee GPS tracking, commissions and QuickBooks Online sync.
- Max (8 users): adds a sales proposal tool, recurring service plans, route optimization, open API access, a dedicated onboarding specialist and escalated phone support.
- Every plan includes live phone and chat support, a free mobile app (iOS and Android), offline viewing and access to business and consumer financing.
QuoteIQ
- Essentials: estimates, invoices, scheduling, online payments, recurring jobs and billing, AI virtual call team and customer financing via Stripe or Whop.
- Beginner: adds MapMeasure Pro, QuoteIQ Cam, expense tracking, advanced analytics, Google Calendar sync and roles and permissions.
- Pro: adds job costing, QuickBooks Online, automation, a client portal, on-the-way texts, in-app calling and texting and chemical tracking for pesticide and herbicide records.
- Elite: adds route optimization, InstaQuote and InstaSchedule, pipelines, inventory, mass campaigns and EmployeeHub.
Notice how each vendor spends its tiers. Housecall Pro puts price book and job costing in its cheapest plan and saves routes, flat-rate pricing and GPS for Essentials. QuoteIQ puts measuring and automation in the mid tiers and gives you more users per dollar higher up.
Where QuoteIQ is the better fit
- Solo and 2-person exterior businesses. Lawn care, pressure washing, cleaning and similar trades usually quote from a property, not a service call, so measuring (MapMeasure Pro) and self-serve quoting (InstaQuote, Elite) are more useful than flat-rate menus.
- Budget-sensitive owners. $29.99/mo to start versus $59 to $79/mo is a meaningful difference when you have one truck and a seasonal business.
- Larger crews that want one price. At roughly 10 users, QuoteIQ Elite is cheaper than Housecall Pro Max and includes routing, automation and the AI tools QuoteIQ lists.

Where Housecall Pro is the better fit
- HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliance repair. Housecall Pro's own plan quiz lists HVAC, plumbing, appliance, electrical and cleaning among its industries, and it sells flat-rate pricing, recurring service plans (Max), a sales proposal tool and consumer financing, which service-call trades use daily. QuoteIQ lists these trades on its industries page, but we could not verify comparable depth, so test it hard before you commit.
- You want phone support and an established vendor. Housecall Pro lists live phone and chat support on every plan and says 200,000+ pros use it.
- You need an open API or Zapier. Housecall Pro's Max plan lists open API access and its FAQ says Max includes Zapier.
- You care about processing rates up front. Housecall Pro publishes "as low as 2.59%".
Housecall Pro's weak spot is the step between plans. A second user moves you from Basic to Essentials, and a sixth user moves you from Essentials to Max, each roughly doubling the monthly price. Owners on forums also complain about outbound sales calls after a trial; that is anecdotal, but worth knowing. Read our Housecall Pro alternatives if the jumps worry you.
Which should you pick?
Mowing, lawn, pressure washing, window cleaning, house cleaning: start the QuoteIQ trial and compare against Housecall Pro's. See pressure washing, lawn care and cleaning guides for trade-specific picks.
HVAC or plumbing with 2 to 8 techs: Housecall Pro is the safer choice; compare it against other HVAC options, including Service Fusion's flat plans if you will have more than 8 users.
Mixed work: try both for two weeks on live jobs. Both offer 14-day trials, and Housecall Pro's does not require a credit card. QuoteIQ's page does not say whether a card is required, so check at signup.
If you want the popular third option, read QuoteIQ vs Jobber and our existing Jobber vs Housecall Pro page.
